I am extremely proud to be one of the first therapists providing complementary treatments to unpaid carers in Norwich. Unpaid carers are saving the NHS up to 30 billion a year - £1.6 billion a year is saved in Norfolk alone. They rarely complain, but the demands of their role can be detrimental to their mental and emotional health.

The original idea - to provide complementary therapies to unpaid carers free of charge, was the brainchild of Jackie Hamilton in April 2019. A team of tutors, therapists and others got together regularly to discuss how this might work. In under a year and after many meetings, networking events and fundraising days, the idea has become a reality. TherapyAid is at present a not-for-profit organisation with an application to become a charity in progress. Some funding has already been received, so therapists are out now providing sessions in Norfolk and in Suffolk too!

The Jackie Hamilton School of Therapies has a huge network of quality graduates trained to national standards as well as connections to many other quality therapists throughout Norfolk. This means that all participating therapists are checked for Level 3 (or equivalent) qualifications on the National Occupational Standards, they belong to a recognised national association, hold current insurance, a first aid certificate and a valid DBS certificate.

If you are an unpaid carer – call TherapyAid on 07971596117 or email info@therapyaid.co.uk - you may be entitled to a course of five FREE complementary therapies – you certainly deserve it!

If you are an organisation and would like to refer an unpaid carer to TherapyAid please email info@therapyaid.co.uk for a referral form.
